Victims identified in drug deal gone bad at Knoxville apartment

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The investigation continues into the shooting at a west Knoxville apartment complex late Sunday morning.

Right now, investigators believe the three victims were trying to buy drugs from the suspect when the dealer robbed them, according to KPD spokesperson Darrell DeBusk.

During the robbery, which took place at the Manor View Apartments on Gallaher View Road around 11:00 Sunday morning, a gun was fired and the woman, 45 year-old Ronda Schrimsher, was shot.

Police eventually found Schrimsher inside a home near near Inskip Road in North Knoxville. She was taken to UT Medical Center with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The other two victims were identified as Reed Hamilton, 26 and 29 year-old Nicholas Lamb. All three of them had Knoxville addresses, DeBusk said.

Two cars were spotted leaving the scene.
