Weather Alert: Strong to severe storms are expected tonight
MAYNARDVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An unidentified woman was seriously injured when she fell off a rented pontoon boat and was struck by its propeller Thursday afternoon, according to TWRA.
The woman was reportedly riding near the front of the boat in the Lost Creek area of Norris Lake when she fell overboard as was apparently hit by the engine's lower unit.
She was pulled back onto the boat and returned to shore where she was flown to UT Medical Center for treatment. Officials said she received serious propeller cut injuries and is in stable condition.
The boat was seized for further investigation. No charges have been filed.
