ALCOA, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A man has died of his injuries after a crash on Alcoa Highway Monday morning.
Just before 9am Alcoa Police say Efrain G. Cruz, 26 turned his Maxima south on to Alcoa Highway right in front of a Ford Explorer driven by Kimberly Queener, 22. Cruz was critically injured and taken to UT Medical Center. Queener was also taken to the hospital and treated for less serious injuries.
Alcoa Police say Cruz succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.
Police are still investigating the crash, and the Alcoa Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Alcoa Police say both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
