Knoxville (WVLT) - Medic Regional Blood Center in Knoxville says it is critically low on blood.
The center says that its supply of type O Negative blood is at a "dangerous level" and is asking for donors to stop in before Christmas.
Type O Negative Blood is used during emergency situations when blood type is not known.
All eligible O Negative donors are asked to please give blood this week so that supplies will be available during the Christmas holiday. Medic says it will be closed on Christmas and are asking for donors to please give the ‘gift of life’ this holiday season.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh more than 110 pounds, have positive identification and feel well and healthy.
