CDC: Autism is "Urgent Concern"

Washington (WVLT) - The Director of the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention is calling autism an "urgent" concern.

Doctor Julie Gerberding told a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee the lifelong impact of autism spectrum disorders, costs to families and unknown cause is one of the CDC's urgent realities.

Two US Representatives plan to reintroduce legislation that would end what they call "a conflict of interest whereby CDC is responsible for both vaccine promotion and safety.
