KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Anderson County schools will be limiting the number of flu vaccines given out to students this year.

Kim Guinn, a member of the schools' health program, says that the shots will first be given to the younger students. They will work their up through the age groups from there. "If the schools system runs out of vaccine before all the requests recieved can be filled, another announcement will be made," says Guinn.

The school system recieved a donation of 2,500 doses of flu vaccine last year. However, there seems to be very little of that program left for this year.

Guinn and the rest of the school's health program members hope that those who can use other resources such as personal physicians or the health department to get their shots will do so.

The shots will be given at schools the last week in October and the first week in November. Consent forms will be sent out around Oct. 17 and need to be reutrned to the school as soon as possible.
