Downtown Knoxville, Tenn (WVLT) -- Heart disease kills many women each year in East Tennessee, but women are coming together for a luncheon to take on this killer on Wednesday.
The Go Red for Women Luncheon hopes to bring together women who have suffered from heart disease and those looking to prevent it in their families.
The American Heart Association says heart disease is the number 1 killer of women in the U.S.
Survivor stories and help preventing heart disease be featured at the luncheon.
The luncheon is Wednesday from 9am-1pm at the Knoxville Convention Center.
