KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- There's always a need for blood donations during the holiday and summer months but this week donation levels are dangerously low.

All MEDIC locations will be closed on the Monday after Christmas; therefore, they need to stock their shelves in order to be ready for the holidays.

Christi Fightmaster of MEDIC told us "When you give blood you're giving life to someone and it could be one of the greatest random acts of kindness a person can do."

On Friday December 23rd Santa will be at the Ailor location in Knoxville for meet and greets! Plus you can get a free picture with the big man himself!
