UT Medical Center and the March of Dimes are working together to bring Prematurity Awareness across the area.
Valerie Day with the March of Dimes says babies born before 37 weeks are considered premature, and in many cases their organs haven't been developed by this time.
Jim Ragonese from UT Medical Center was in studio, and has had his own personal experience when his son was born premature 5 years ago, weighing under 6 pounds, but still couldn't even eat on his own.
