Jury Finds Guards Not Guilty in Boot Camp Death

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP/WVLT) -- A jury in Florida has acquitted seven boot camp guards and a nurse in the death of a 14-year-old boy.

Video seen in court showed the boot camp guards and a nurse repeatedly hitting and dragging the teenager after he collapsed while running laps at the camp.

A nurse is seen in the video standing by and watching.

The jurors had to decide whether the seven guards and one nurse acted as caretakers or became frustrated and crossed a line because he repeatedly refused to comply with their orders.

If they had been convicted of aggravated manslaughter of a child, they face up to 30 years in prison.
