NEW YORK (AP) -- Picketing by members of the television and film writers union is under way in New York.
Noisy demonstrators, complete with a giant, inflated rat, gathered outside NBC's "Today" show set, shouting, "No contract, no shows!"
News writers working on the "Today" show are not part of the strike by the Writers Guild of America.
The walkout began overnight after a final negotiating session between the 12,000-member guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers broke off.
