DETROIT (AP) -- Prosecutors in Detroit have charged two teenagers in the brutal slaying of an adult acquaintance.
They say the two teens ambushed the man, stabbed him, and then severed his head. They say they then burned the man's hands and feet with a blowtorch, possibly in an effort to conceal his identity.
Police describe the teens as thrill-seekers. They say they lured the victim, Daniel Sorenson, into a garage owned by the grandfather of one of the teens.
The victim was a registered sex offender in two states, and he may have owed his attackers a small amount of money. But prosecutors say that apparently had nothing to do with the case.
