LAYTONSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Police in Maryland say a man shot and killed his ex-wife and their three children in a park yesterday before killing himself.
The bodies were found last night when park police noticed two cars with their engines running in the otherwise deserted park. Police say the woman and three children had been shot multiple times. The body of the man was found nearby with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was recovered near his body.
Investigators say the couple had a history of domestic violence and were divorced two years ago. They had met at the park to transfer custody of the children.
