Woman Loses Finger in Purse Snatching

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- A drive-by purse snatching has left a Georgia woman with a missing finger.

Police in Gwinnett County, Georgia say a man drove past the woman on Wednesday, grabbed her purse, and hit the gas. As he drove away, one of the woman's fingers was "pulled off."

Doctors tried, but weren't able to reattach the finger.

Police caught up with a suspect later in the day. He faces a number of felony charges in connection with this incident and another purse snatching earlier this month.
