FORREST CITY, Ark. (AP) -- Three people are dead after a passenger bus collided with a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler last night in northeastern Arkansas.
State police and witnesses say at least a dozen people, including some children, were injured in the wreck on Interstate 40 east of Forrest City.
The bus was headed from Chicago to Dallas when it veered off the westbound lanes of I-40, went across the median and slammed head-on into the oncoming pickup truck. The bus was then was hit by the tractor-trailer.
The driver of the pickup and two passengers on the bus died. The bus driver and the driver of the 18-wheeler had only minor injuries.
More than 40 people were on the bus.
