MAYSVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A judge has rejected a plea deal offered to a woman charged with helping to dispose of the body a dead child.
The (Maysville) Ledger Independent reports today that Amy Baker had agreed to plead guilty in November to felony charges of tampering with evidence in exchange for no jail time as part of a pretrial diversion program.
Court documents show the deal was approved by prosecutors but rejected by Mason Circuit Court Judge Stockton Wood.
Baker was a key witness in the Ohio murder case against the boy's foster parents, Liz Carroll and David Carroll. She was granted immunity in that state in exchange for her testimony.
