FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) -- Defense Secretary Robert Gates will visit Fort Campbell Friday to speak to 101st Airborne Division soldiers soon to leave for Afghanistan and the spouses of soldiers already in Iraq.
Approximately 3,000 soldiers from Fort Campbell have deployed to Afghanistan since December. More than 11,000 are serving in Iraq.
Fifteen soldiers from the 101st Airborne have died in Iraq since the division deployed in October, including eight in January.
