MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- Sixteen cats, including a day-old kitten, have been found stuffed inside two small crates that were discarded alongside a road in New Hampshire.
The Manchester Animal Shelter says a woman brought the cats in after finding them on the side of a road in town.
Shelter manager Shelley Greenglass says the animals were diagnosed with respiratory illnesses and fleas. She says anyone who knows who abandoned the cats should contact the town's animal control officer.
