QUINCY, Mass. (AP) -- A mayoral official in Quincy, Mass., says one person was killed in the collapse of a crane that was dismantling another giant crane at the Fore River Shipyard.
Jim Fatseas says one person died and everyone else was believed to be safe.
The giant crane known as the Goliath was being dismantled Thursday in preparation to be shipped to Romania.
A woman who answered the phone at the company dismantling the crane, Washington state-based Norsar LLC, had no comment.
