IRVINGTON, N.J. (AP) -- Four people are dead after what police in New Jersey say was a shooting in a home. They say it looks like a fire was then deliberately set to try to cover up the crime.
The fire was reported this morning in a three-story wood-frame house in Irvington. Fire and emergency personnel found two bodies that were burned nearly beyond recognition, and two other victims with gunshot wounds.
Both of those victims -- a 13-year-old and an 18-year-old -- were later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The two other victims haven't been identified, and it's not clear if they were also shot.
It's also not known if the victims were related to each other.
Police say at least two other people were in the first-floor apartment when the violence began, but managed to escape.
