MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The new Interstate 35W bridge in Minneapolis is set to open sometime next week.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said Tuesday that Gov. Tim Pawlenty and other officials will announce the specific opening time Monday. The bridge could open to traffic the next day.
The old I-35W bridge collapsed Aug. 1, 2007, killing 13 motorists. Work began on the new bridge late last year.
Details on the investigation into what caused the collapse are expected in November.
