WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Justice Department says it is investigating potential price-fixing practices into two major U.S. food industries -- tomato processing and egg products.
Federal prosecutors also have been looking at anticompetitive practices in the citrus industry for at least a year.
Justice spokeswoman Gina Talamona confirmed the probes into the tomato and egg products industries on Tuesday. She said prosecutors are looking at the possibility of anticompetitive practices in both cases.
