HOUMA, La. (AP) -- A man suspected of killing as many as 23 men in southern Louisiana over 10 years has pleaded guilty to killing eight men.
Ronald Dominique was sentenced on Tuesday to serve 8 consecutive sentences of life in prison.
The 44-year-old was arrested in 2006 at a homeless shelter in Houma, about 60 miles southwest of New Orleans.
Police said he solicited sex from almost two dozen men, lured them back to his home, and then raped and killed them.
Prosecutor Joe Waitz Jr. says Dominique's guilty pleas were reached after consulting with families of eight of the victims.
