Fat Tuesday in the Big Easy

NEW ORLEANS, LA.(WVLT)--The annual Mardi Gras always means party time, costumes, beads, a parade and all around debauchery.

It was estimated as one of the largest crowds for Fat Tuesday since Hurricane Katrina five and a half years ago

Mardi Gras ends at midnight and will turn New Orleans into a very different atmosphere.

On Wednesday, Lent begins a period of fasting and repentance before Easter.
