(CBS) Kim Kardashian has decided to cut her trip to Australia short, missing promotional appearances to deal with the fallout from her divorce after 72 days of marriage to professional basketball player Kris Humphries.

According to The Daily Mail, the reality star pulled out of a profitable appearance at an Australian horse racing event and a visit to Melbourne Cup Carnival for Swisse vitamins marquee on Saturday for which she was reportedly expected to make more than $150,000.

"I'm very disappointed that I am unable to attend the Swisse marquee but I hope to come back and work with the Swisse team at another point in time," she said, according to reports in Us Weekly.

A spokesman for Swisse told Melbourne's Herald Sun newspaper the company thought Kardashian was fully committed, "but has obviously changed her mind given her very difficult personal challenges at the moment."

Kardashian flew to Australia with her sister Khloe, just hours after filing for divorce from her husband Monday, to promote the family's new handbag line.

She gave her first television interview Wednesday while in Sydney and tried to skirt around the questions of her divorce.

"I think when you know so deep in your heart that you just to listen to your intuition and follow your heart, there's no right or wrong thing to do," she said in response to the hosts' questions about whether she fought to save her marriage, The Daily Mail reports.

When asked about how she was dealing with honoring her commitments to come to Australia for business, she responded: "I really wanted to stick with my commitment to come out to Australia. I love the fan base here."
