Police: Pastor of North Texas church killed

FOREST HILL, Texas (AP) -- Authorities say a North Texas pastor is dead after being assaulted by a man who drove his car into the building.

Forest Hill Police Chief Dan Dennis says officers arrived at the Greater Sweethome Missionary Baptist Church on Monday to find an assault in progress.

Dennis did not identify the pastor, but said the pastor had died.

Dennis says the suspect also died shortly after being detained.

Part of the suspect's car remained inside the building. Hundreds of church members and other community members were outside of the church, hugging and crying.

Forest Hill is a suburb south of Fort Worth.
