NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WVLT) -- A Connecticut university is currently on lockdown. Students at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain have been told to stay indoors and away from windows.
CBS affiliate WFSB said federal agents told them they are treating it as an active shooter situation. http://www.wfsb.com/story/23870217/campus-emergency-reported-on-ccsu-campus-in-new-britain
The campus website has been replaced with nothing but the words, "Campus Emergency Remain Inside buildings. Stay in place! Stay away from Windows. Police are on the Scene." in bold, red letters. There is also a link to the university's Twitter account.
"We will communicate when we have more info. This is not a drill," officials tweeted around noon.
WSFB said it was unable to confirm if anyone was injured. University officials have told them that no shots were fired.
