SPRING, Texas (CBS) - Six people, five of them children, were shot dead Wednesday in a suburban Houston home, CBS affiliate KHOU reported. The suspected shooter was in a standoff with police.
Harris County deputies responding to a report of a shooting found the victims in a home in the Enchanted Oaks subdivision in Spring, north of Houston.
The suspected shooter fled the home and authorities pursued him to another neighborhood, KHOU said. The suspect was apparently cornered and a standoff was ongoing.
KHOU said five children and one adult were confirmed dead. The adult was 40 years old and the youngest victim was 5 years old.
