NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- More than a dozen people who are accused in a sex trafficking ring run by Somali gangs that reached from Minnesota to Tennessee are facing trial in Nashville.

Fifteen individuals out of a total of 30 who were indicted are facing a federal trial that is expected to last about two months. Jury selection is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

According to the indictment, the defendants, many in their 20s and 30s, were members or associates of three gangs called the Somali Outlaws, the Somali Mafia and the Lady Outlaws who are accused of forcing teenage girls into prostitution and operated in St. Paul; Minneapolis; Columbus, Ohio; and Nashville.

The indictment lists four unidentified female victims, one of whom prosecutors say was under the age of 13 at the time.
