URBANA, Ohio (AP) -- A 25-year-old man accused of stabbing, suffocating and dismembering his 21-year-old girlfriend in Ohio says he met the woman through a social networking website while looking for new friends.

Matthew Puccio is among five people charged in connection with the death of Jessica Rae Sacco in their Urbana duplex apartment.

A couple from Fenton, Mich., and two people from Urbana are accused of failing to intervene in the killing and helping Puccio cut off or transport limbs that were dumped in southern Ohio and Kentucky.

The Springfield News-Sun reports that Puccio said during an interview that he met Sacco through Facebook and was longtime friends with the Michigan man. Puccio said he met the two Urbana residents at a local library three days before the killing.
