Internet comedians auctioning off portrait of Fred Thompson

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A pair of Internet comedians are turning a piece of campaign memorabilia from Fred Thompson's failed presidential bid into a gift for charity.

Thompson, an actor and former U.S. senator from Tennessee, quit the race this week after a string of poor finishes.

The redneck pundits of the Web-based sketch show "Red State Update" are auctioning off their homemade portrait of Thompson as his "Law & Order" character, gruff district attorney Arthur Branch.

Proceeds from the eBay auction will go to a charity of the former candidate's choosing.

The characters "Jackie Broyles" and "Dunlap" grabbed national attention when they were picked to ask a question during CNN's YouTube Democratic debate in July.

The two pose as good ol' boys from Tennessee.

The auction continues through next Tuesday.
