State Senator Raymond Finney asks for recount

Republican State Senator Raymond Finney has formally asked for a vote recount.

Finney lost to state Representative Doug Overbey.

This comes less than a week after losing his seat by a mere 139 ballots in the primary election.

The Maryville resident filed the petition with the Sevier County Election Commission.

Finney's district includes Sevier and Blount counties.

Finney won Blount County by 1,196 votes, but lost in Sevier County by 1,335 votes.
