McCain to attend 50th class reunion

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- John McCain will return to his alma mater on Saturday for his 50th class reunion.

The Republican presidential nominee graduated from the Naval Academy in 1958.

McCain's public schedule has him attending the football game Saturday afternoon between Navy and Rutgers. It's unclear whether he'll participate in other reunion festivities.

Other members of the academy's class of 1958 include former academy superintendent Charles Larson, retired astronaut Bruce McCandless and John Poindexter, a national security adviser to President Ronald Reagan and a figure in the Iran-Contra scandal.
