PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) -- John McCain says he "almost felt a little sorry" for Joe Biden last night.
McCain says his running mate, Sarah Palin, did a "magnificent job" in her debate against Biden.
As for Palin, she tells Fox news that the debate was "a lot of fun." She says it was "a great opportunity to get to speak directly to Americans."
But two quick polls indicated that Biden fared better in the debate. Forty-six percent of the uncommitted voters surveyed by CBS News and Knowledge Networks thought Biden won, while 21 percent sided with Palin. A CNN poll found respondents judging Biden the winner, 51 percent to 36 percent -- although more than half said Palin was more likable.
