Bush still has great respect for Powell despite edndorsement

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush's spokeswoman says Bush "greatly respects" Colin Powell. But Dana Perino says she hasn't talked to Bush about his reaction to Powell's endorsement of Barack Obama.

She says Bush and Powell have a good relationship.

Powell served as Bush's first secretary of state.

In endorsing Obama, Powell told NBC he was disappointed in the negative tone of McCain's campaign, his choice of Sarah Palin, and their decision to focus on Obama's ties to a Chicago professor who was a 1960s radical.
