NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- In addition to today's 30-minute infomercial, Barack Obama will be airing a new 30-second TV ad that gets in a few shots at John McCain.
The spot uses McCain's own words against him and also mocks running mate Sarah Palin.
The McCain quotes, one from 2005 and two from 2007, play off McCain's admission that he knows less about economic matters than other issues. In the last quote, McCain says he might have to rely on his vice president for expertise. Then the spot cuts to a winking Palin.
The longer, 30-minute show airs on several networks at 8 p.m. EDT. That ad is expected to feature a video montage of typical people talking about the challenges they face, with Obama explaining how he can help.
