Knoxville (WVLT) - US Congressman Zach Wamp is talking more about a possible run for the state's top job.
Wamp says while he plans to run for re-election of his congressional seat, he and his family have discussed a run for governor of Tennessee.
If he does, he says all of his children will be in college, allowing him more time to focus on a possible campaign.
"When they're out of the home, you've got more time to travel the state. I love this state, and if you consider traveling all 95 counties of this state, to me, that's very attractive thought. Just the whole process of getting to know everybody in this state," Wamp says.
Congressman Wamp has served 13 years in the house.
Current Governor Phil Bredesen is now in his second term of office and can not seek another term in office.
