McCain: Current Iraq Plan Is Best Option

Charlotte, NC (AP) -- Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain says the current Iraq war plan is the only decent option and warns of the consequences of failure.

The Arizona Senator tells the Associated Press that he is only focused on figuring out how to make the current military plan work. And he says a new course won't be considered until the end of the year.

McCain is urging the American people to give the security buildup a chance, noting that the full five brigades have not all arrived in iraq.

Several Republicans have said that they will give the buildup until the end of the summer to work, but McCain said he is more patient.

And he's accusing Democrats of failing to consider the consequences of withdrawing troops.
