New Orleans (AP) -- Rudy Giuliani is pointing to the car bomb scare in London, and the attack on the Glasgow Airport in Scotland, to illustrate the need for secure borders in the US.
The Republican presidential hopeful says the UK has security "that is at least equal to ours." he says, "we're in an era in which we need to know everyone who's in the United States."
Giuliani, speaking Saturday in New Orleans, said the federal government needs to ensure that its borders are secure. He's proposing "tamper-proof" ID cards and a database that would track people in the US from foreign countries.
