Romney Raises $14 Million In Second Quarter, Boosts Number Of Donors

Washington (AP) -- Mitt Romney's campaign says the Republican Presidential Candidate raised $14 million from April through June.

That's short of his first quarter, when he raised nearly $21 million.

Romney aides say he had $12 million of cash on hand, the same amount he had at the end of the first quarter.

They also say the number of donors has increased from $32,000 in the first quarter to $80,000 for the first half of the year.

The figures put Romney ahead of rival John McCain, who raised $11 million during the second quarter and had $2 million cash on hand.

Rudy Giuliani, Romney's other top rival for the GOP nomination, has not reported his second quarter totals.
