CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Some Hamilton County Democratic Party leaders want their chairman to apologize after he printed an off-color joke about women on a meeting agenda.
Paul Smith told the Chattanooga Times Free Press the joke was meant to target U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, the Missouri Republican who made headlines for his comments about "legitimate rape."
The joke recommended that to have a happy life a man should find a woman who, among other things, cooks, cleans, has a job and "is good in bed."
The punchline reads that "these four women" must not know each other "or you could end up dead like me."
Smith said that Akin is "politically dead."
Party board member and Greater Chattanooga Democratic Women's Club President Rita Fehring called Smith "a moron" for printing the joke.
