Romney back to economy after immigration detour

Mitt Romney is trying to steer his bus tour back to economic issues after a detour caused by President Barack Obama

HAZELTON, Pa. (AP) -- Mitt Romney is trying to steer his bus tour back to economic issues after a detour caused by President Barack Obama's new policy on deporting young illegal immigrants.

As he travels across Pennsylvania, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee is arguing that he's the candidate who will give average Americans a "fair shot" at economic prosperity.

Romney is focusing on smaller cities and towns through the state's conservative midsection. He plans stops Saturday at a casting and machine company in Weatherly, a convenience store in Quakertown and an old iron furnace in Cornwall.

Obama announced Friday that the U.S. would no longer deport some young illegal immigrants who came to the country as children.

Romney says immigration is an important matter and he favors a long-term solution.
