Romney visits Knoxville before Super Tuesday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- With just two days until Super Tuesday, GOP Nominee Mitt Romney made a campaign stop in Knoxville Sunday.

He already has the support of Governor Bill Haslam and several state senators and representatives, but that doesn't seem to be enough as he trails behind Rick Santorum. Romney hopes that changes after Sunday's rally.

The presidential hopeful and his wife received a warm welcome as Gov. Haslam introduced the couple to a crowd of nearly 1,000 people at West Hills Elementary School.

Just minutes before taking on the stage, Romney sat down with Local 8 News to talk about his plans on moving the country forward.

"I spent my life in the private sector. I want to use that skill to get America back on track," he said.

Before he can try to do so, he must win over Tennesseans.

"I want them (delegates) to come to me, and to get the support I need to become the nominee and replace Barack Obama," he said. "We've got to get him out of office."

But could be beat President Barack Obama if it came down to it?
His wife Ann thinks so.

"There's one thing I know...this guy next to me is going to be the nominee, and the next thing I know, he is going to beat Barack Obama," she said followed by cheers.

The former Governor said it won't be easy. But his supporters also believe he has a good shot.

"I've been impressed with Gov. Romney since the first time I met him, 4years ago. He's a good, kind and decent man," said Congressman John Duncan. "He's more conservative than people give him credit for."

"I think he's what we need for this country and I think he's going to be the next president," said supporter Hannah Dudley.

You disgust me SUPER TUESDAY… a.k.a. the world’s suckiest super power ever. “So what’s your super power?” “Who me?” “Yeah you, beem-bo.” “Um, Tuesdays.” “What does that mean?” “Well, it means I really peak on Tuesdays. Mondays are just, you know, Monday; and Wednesdays are just kind of a repeat for me of Mondays. Then Thursday and Friday typically aren’t very productive cause the accumulative sitting at work makes my sciatica really act up. Because I’m not the most social of guys, my weekends consist mostly of morning power walks at the mall before the stores open and looking forward to the start of the work week because come Tuesdays, man, that's when I really am at my peak.” So good luck to all you nerdy “Super Tuesday” fans out there. Tomorrow’s your big day. Hope your candidate scores better than the Secret Service agent in this funny YouTube video set at Obama’s Chicago home. Enjoy:

It would be nice if all of these politicians start acting like a grown up. They should be a positive role model for our kids and the younger generations. Instead they all have to act like bullies making our kids thinking it is ok to bully other people with all these crazy commercials pointing fingers at one another. Grow up and show our kids the right way instead of the wrong way!
