NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- State Sen. Jim Summerville has drawn a second opponent for the Republican nomination to his Senate seat.
State Rep. Joshua Evans of Greenbrier announced Tuesday that he will run for the Senate District 25 seat next year, joining former Sen. Kerry Roberts of Springfield in the race. The district includes Cheatham, Dickson, Hickman, Humphreys and Robertson counties.
Roberts' and Summerville's districts were drawn together as part of the 2010 redistricting process.
Before being elected to the House of Representatives in 2008, Evans served eight years in local government.
He is a small business owner and has served as a volunteer firefighter in Robertson County since 2001.
