1 injured in plane crash at Murfreesboro airport

MURFRESSBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- A single-engine plane has crashed at a Middle Tennessee airport injuring the pilot.

WTVF-TV reports that LifeFlight was called to the scene at the Murfreesboro airport Thursday morning and the victim was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

The Daily News Journal reports the pilot, 49-year-old Randall Ray, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The plane apparently hit a hangar after it ran off a runway.

The airport has been temporarily shut down while the crash is investigated and the runway inspected.

Records show Cessna 172 was registered in Connecticut to Skylark Flight Training LLC.
