JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- One person has been killed and another injured after a fight in eastern Tennessee turned into a shootout.
Johnson City police say 30-year-old Michael Alexis Lee Rowe died from injuries sustained during the shooting just after 1 a.m. Friday. Officer say 29-year-old Moses Alfonso Ballard Jr., is recovering from non-life threatening injuries and will be charged with second-degree murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
A third person, 24-year-old Tonya Sue Hartley has been charged with aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Officers say Ballard was wounded and fled the scene after dropping his gun. Police say Hartley picked up the weapon and fired shots at Ballard.
Hartley was being held in Washington County Detention Center.
