CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- A Tennessee jail escapee on the lam since last month has been captured at a Chattanooga auto shop.
Police say 38-year-old Arthur Milks was arrested Thursday night after he crawled through a 16-inch hole in the back office of the shop and was spotted.
He led police on a chase from Tennessee to Alabama to Georgia after he escaped from Henderson County Jail in West Tennessee on July 25.
Milks had been convicted of possessing prohibited weapons, burglary, theft and vandalism and has a criminal history dating to 1991 in Tennessee and Florida.
In addition to escape charges, Tennessee Department of Correction spokeswoman Dorinda Carter says Milks faces more burglary charges in Alabama, Georgia and Chattanooga.
