NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Human remains have been found near where a man was swept away in his vehicle during Nashville flooding nearly five months ago.
A statement from Metro Nashville Police late Sunday says the department is awaiting confirmation from the medical examiner's office about whether the remains are those of Danny Tomlinson.
The 39-year-old Pegram resident has been missing since early May 2 when his car ran into flood water near the Harpeth River. A man who had been riding with Tomlinson got out safely and the victim's car was found two days later.
Tomlinson's family and friends found the remains among debris on a greenway space near the river Sunday afternoon.
