NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Department of Correction and the organization You Have the Power are jointly sponsoring a "No More Victims" walk Saturday.
According to a news release from the department, the walk is the first of its kind in the state. It will bring attention to victims' rights and the importance of working with offenders to change behavior and reduce recidivism.
Inmates across the state will show their support through fundraising walks within their facilities and other activities including educational programs, staff car washes, facility bake sales and poster/essay contests.
The walk will begin at the old Tennessee State Penitentiary and proceed approximately three miles to the Charles Bass Annex.
