EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in East Ridge say an 11-year-old boy assaulted a 10-year-old boy with a pair of scissors in an argument at an elementary school.
Police spokesman Erik Hopkins said officers went to East Ridge Elementary School after a verbal altercation led to the assault. Hopkins said the 10-year-old boy suffered a minor arm wound. The scissors-wielding youth was charged with aggravated assault and taken to a juvenile detention facility.
Hopkins said the wounded boy's parents declined an offer of medical treatment for the cut at the scene. The boys' names were not released.
